Yes, you can make this peach cobbler using fresh peaches to make this peach cobbler recipe. But, before using fresh sliced peaches, place them in water and sugar and bring to a boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat, reserving about three quarter cups of the peach water.

How to Make Peach Cobbler with Canned Peaches
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Open both cans of peaches and reserve the liquid from one can only. Place peaches and liquid in to baking dish.
Add vanilla, brown sugar and the peaches.
Discard the liquid from the second can of peaches.
In a small bowl combine the dry ingredients for the cake topping. Add butter and using a pastry cutter or your hands mix in the butter.
Add milk to the dry ingredients and mix. Scoop the batter on top of the peaches. Bake for 50 minutes.
Storage
Store unused peach cobbler in its original baking dish covered with plastic wrap. Place leftover cobbler in the refrigerator covered tightly for not longer than 4 to 5 days.
Top tip
Make sure that you use a baking dish that is large enough to hold all of the ingredients. A 1.5 to 2 quart baking dish is needed to make this peach cobbler recipe.
Reserve the liquid of one can of the peaches and discard the liquid of the second can.

Using Fresh Peaches
You will need 5 to 6 peaches. Clean, slice and remove the pit of your peaches. Bring 2 cups of water and ½ cup of sugar to a boil in a medium saucepan. Place fresh sliced peaches and boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of the water to use in the recipe. Drain peaches. Continue with step 1 of the recipe.Other Tips
