Drain and thoroughly rinse the chickpeas under cool water. Rub dry using a towel and discard chickpea skins.
Place all ingredients in a mini blender and pulse to cream chickpeas and ingredients.
Using a spatula scrape any unblended chunks and using the pulse feature continue to blend the ingredients in the blender.
Repeat until you get a smooth paste.
Taste and add additional seasoning as needed. (Remember that as the hummus sits the garlic and cumin will become more pungent)
Serve immediately or refrigerate for future use
Notes
For a creamy hummus, rinse and towel dry chickpeas. Rub chickpeas with towel to loosen chickpea skin. Discard skin before placing in the blender with other ingredients.
