Are Air Frier Zucchini Fries Healthy?
Air fryer zucchini fries are definitely more healthy than deep fried zucchini and tastes just as good when prepared just the right way. Deep frying anything is unhealthy because your food is drenched in trans fats that are then consumed and digested. Eating and consuming foods cooked in trans fats results in an increased risk of heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and some types of cancer. Skip the deep fryer and air fry or bake your foods with minimal cooking oils, and monounsaturated fats like olive oil.
Can I make Zucchini Fries without an Air Fryer?
Yes. You can absolutely make zucchini fries without an air fryer! The oven is a great alternative. Simple place your breaded zucchini strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spray them lightly with cooking oil, and bake at 425 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
For extra crispiness, place them on a wire rack over the baking sheet to allow hot air to circulate around them. You can also use the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes for added golden crunch.
Our Air Fryer Choice
Since air fryers vary from one to another, the best advice for you is trial and error. I use a Kalorik Max Air Fryer Convection Oven.
It's a toaster oven that's huge and has space for two racks, comes with a rotisserie for roasting whole chicken.
The Kalorik Max Air Fryer comes with an air fryer basket and pre set cooking temperatures. Air fried zucchini at 425 degrees F at 20 to 25 minutes yields a perfect zucchini fry that is crisp!
The Kalorik Max Air Fryer works perfect in our kitchen. If you don't have an air fryer, you can check it out and see if it meets your needs or shop for one that does.

How to Make Air Fryer Zucchini Fries
Cut zucchini in strips not longer than 4 inches and sprinkle with salt. Let sit for at least 30 minutes. Salt will pull excess water from zucchini.
Set the zucchini in a strainer, and set the strainer over top a bowl to catch any drippings.
Pat zucchini dry with paper towel. In a bowl whisk an egg, take a zucchini and dip it in the wash then dip in the breadcrumb mixture and pat the mixture onto the fries.
Transfer and place in a single layer on an air fryer basket. Spray fries with cooking oil. Repeat.
Remove when they are golden brown but not burnt, about 20 to 25 minutes at 425 degrees F. Note: all air fryer's are different. Check recommended temperature settings for your model air fryer.
Storage
Any leftovers should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for not longer than 3 to 4 days.
These ingredients don't stand up well to freezing.
Top Tips
If you are using seasoned breadcrumbs, do not use any extra salt and reduce the amount of parmesan cheese.
Hint: Using seasoned breadcrumbs may result in your zucchini fries being salty.
