Double Chocolate Glazed Donuts

Who doesn't like double chocolate donuts? These baked double chocolate donuts with glaze are just as good as the baked donuts from your local donut store. These glazed chocolate donuts are made with minimal ingredients including flour, cocoa powder, unsweetened cocoa powder and a buttery chocolate glaze with a hint of vanilla extract.

Ingredients

For Donuts

Chocolate Glaze

Topping Options

  • 1 tablespoon sprinkles
  • 2 crushed Oreo cookies
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened shredded coconut

Instructions

For Donuts

  • Pre-heat oven to 375 F.
  • Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl. Using a whisk mix dry ingredients until well combined and there are no lumps.
  • Combine all wet ingredients in another bowl and mix well.
  • Pour wet ingredients into bowl with dry ingredients and mix well until there are no lumps.
  • Pour contents into a piping bag. If you don't have a piping bag use a ziploc bag.
  • Cut a slit in the piping bag and pipe out batter into donut pan. Fill donut wholes about ¾ of the way, don't over fill because it will make it hard to remove the donuts from the pan.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.

Chocolate Glaze and Toppings:

  • Combine all dry ingredients into a shallow bowl.
  • Add melted butter, milk and vanilla a little bit at a time. Combining well. If the mixture is to dry keep adding butter and milk until the consistency is such that you can dip the donuts into the glaze, but it won't run down the sides.
  • If you add too much liquid, just add more powdered sugar to thicken it up.
  • It also helps to microwave for 5 seconds if it gets to thick.
  • Dip your donuts into the glaze and place on a plate. Top with your favorite topping.
